Lesson # 1
Lesson: Creating Business Cards
Grade Level: 9-12
Subject: Information Technology
Objective: Students will write and design their own business card
Technology used: MS Word or MS Publisher 2007, Internet, basic peripherals such mouse and keyboard

Lesson Summary: This is a simple lesson that integrates technology for grades 9-12. Information Processing students will develop business cards using desktop publishing software. Some of the resources that they will use are a collectionof business cards from family, friends or local businesses, the Internet, MS Office business card templates, scanner, clip art, business card stock, laser printer. Students will take the following steps to complete their business card: decide what you want your business card to tell others, describe yourself, use the business card checklist to list the major components of your card, look at the sample cards you collected, sketch out some rough ideas of how you want your card to look like, create your card in the software of your choice, print cards and exchange with others in the class. Students will be assessed through a self-evaluation, student-evaluation and teacher evaluation of the business card.

Subject: Microsoft Office Applications
Objective: Students will learn how to use MS Word 2007
Technology used: MS Word 2007, Internet

Lesson Summary: By exploring the tutorial students will be able to find features of Word independently in order to create, edit, format and add graphics to their documents.

Lesson: Building a Resume



Grade level: 10, 11, 12
Subject: Employability Skills/Personal Finance
Objective: Students will learn to create a resume.
Technology Used: WISCareers website

Lesson Summary: Students will prepare a resume using the Resume program in the WISCareers or CareerLocker website. The lesson is designed to be used with the Career Internet Site. The teacher will p
rovide instruction, preferably an in-class demonstration, to illustrate using the website to create a resume. Students will create a resume using the website.
